Chronicle Fuengirola 2012 (II)

Next day, as we had to leave the room before 10am, we woke up at 9am for breakfast, pick up everything and put it in the car. We went to the swimming pool to relax until 12pm or so, when we planned to go to the contest (the awards were at 13h).

About 10.30am, being in the pool, Adri got a call from our friend Javier Molina (Dragonsland) for to have coffee together, and we told him we were still in the hotel. Then he told us that they were already posted the awards, but he was not going to say anything to us.

This news left us with lots of curiosity, I biting my nails all the time and Adri still thinking about it. Result? At 11.15 we were in the Palacio de la Paz.

While Adri and Javi drank coffee, I went to see the works, and that was when I was pleasantly surprised to see that Adri, Peter and I had won a award.

Adri won gold in historic scene with his "Cornered", gorgeous, and I told him he would win the gold with it, because the idea is great, and as base as painting are very very good, and then he has done in a short time, so I was happy to win for him.

Pedro won silver with "Defying to Rome" in historical, also very cool figure, and which I think he has improved a lot compared to his previous works, which is most important.

I won bronze with "Boromir" in less than 40mm fantasy, gold with "Tau Firewarrior" in fantasy up to 54mm, and silver with my last work in historic, "Robbery in the Farm" (I will post photos soon).

So I announced it to Adri, and we met there with Pedro and Carmen. We were to meet bloggers friends as Jesus Martin of Historic Art, Roberto of Scale 75, Mario of Game Forces or Kombo, and we enjoyed a fantastic awards ceremony. The organization here was great, because despite many awards and works, the delivery was very quick and pleasant, with the projected image of each work with the title, category, and award.

The place of the event is great, spacious, with a comfortable temperature, and a large open area in the entrance for to park easily. As things improve, as is customary in many contests, lighting (although I know that this year is much improved over previous years) and to have more stores on the enclosure, becasuse there were only three, very small and with very little material.

In conclusion, it was a very good weekend and I hope to repeat next year, which also coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the competition and seems to be more workshops and surprises.

Here some photos of the event (about dioramas, vehicles and tanks, planes and boats I have no photos, sorry):
