Chronicle Fuengirola 2012 (II)
Next day, as we had to leave the room before 10am, we woke up at 9am for breakfast, pick up everything and put it in the car. We went to the swimming pool to relax until 12pm or so, when we planned to go to the contest (the awards were at 13h).
About 10.30am, being in the pool, Adri got a call from our friend Javier Molina (Dragonsland) for to have coffee together, and we told him we were still in the hotel. Then he told us that they were already posted the awards, but he was not going to say anything to us.
This news left us with lots of curiosity, I biting my nails all the time and Adri still thinking about it. Result? At 11.15 we were in the Palacio de la Paz.
While Adri and Javi drank coffee, I went to see the works, and that was when I was pleasantly surprised to see that Adri, Peter and I had won a award.
Adri won gold in historic scene with his "Cornered", gorgeous, and I told him he would win the gold with it, because the idea is great, and as base as painting are very very good, and then he has done in a short time, so I was happy to win for him.
Pedro won silver with "Defying to Rome" in historical, also very cool figure, and which I think he has improved a lot compared to his previous works, which is most important.
I won bronze with "Boromir" in less than 40mm fantasy, gold with "Tau Firewarrior" in fantasy up to 54mm, and silver with my last work in historic, "Robbery in the Farm" (I will post photos soon).
So I announced it to Adri, and we met there with Pedro and Carmen. We were to meet bloggers friends as Jesus Martin of Historic Art, Roberto of Scale 75, Mario of Game Forces or Kombo, and we enjoyed a fantastic awards ceremony. The organization here was great, because despite many awards and works, the delivery was very quick and pleasant, with the projected image of each work with the title, category, and award.
The place of the event is great, spacious, with a comfortable temperature, and a large open area in the entrance for to park easily. As things improve, as is customary in many contests, lighting (although I know that this year is much improved over previous years) and to have more stores on the enclosure, becasuse there were only three, very small and with very little material.
In conclusion, it was a very good weekend and I hope to repeat next year, which also coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the competition and seems to be more workshops and surprises.
Here some photos of the event (about dioramas, vehicles and tanks, planes and boats I have no photos, sorry):

Golden Demon 2012 dates
The White Dwarf magazine has published the dates of the all Golden Demon 2012. This year, the GD Spain chage his location, returning to Barcelona, as in the beginning. For me is this is a bad new because Madrid es a more central location, and therefore it was easier, faster and cheaperto travel there that Barcelona.
Chronic I Seville Modeling Contest 2011
On 10 and 11 December, I was in I Seville Modeling Contest, and the truth is that was very good. I have to thank to the organization, because they had only two months to prepare the contest, and in general I think the result was a good event, with great participation, fantastic works, and a lot of workshops for to make the event more entertaining. We could enjoy high quality works of great artists as Juan Jose Barrena (JJ), Rafa Coll, Pepa Saavedra, Javier Molina (Dragonsland),Roi, Pedro, Chema or The Cursed Monkeys Fran, Arsies and Piqui.
Of course, there there were areas for improvement, as the place, that there were well-conditioned, but it was something small, something that certainly is a good sign because there were more works than the expected. It would also be good to change the lighting of the showcase for natural lights for to see better the miniatures. And finally, it would be to project photos of the winners miniatures or to say the title of the work, because sometimes with just say the name of the winner and the category we did not know waht wokt was the miniature winner.
These are small things I'm sure for next year, witht more preparation time they will improve. The contest was a great weekend for to have a good time with friends, to greet others who I had not seen for some time, and to met more people. I hope to repeat the experience and that this competition will be performed again the next years.
For my part, I won Gold in the category "Fantasy Figures 30 mm scale" with Boromir, Silver with Nob Ork Komman in category "Science Fiction Figures 30 mm scale," and Silver with Firewarrior Tau in the category "Figures Science Fiction and Fantasy of more than 30mm", so I became very very happy. I also had the luck to win the modelistic Christmas box that was raffled!
Here you can to see pics of the works presented in the contest.
